New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the virtual CoWin Global Conclave today introduced India’s indigenous CoWIN platform to the global community of 142 countries represented at the conclave.
The Conclave, organized by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of External Affairs and National Health Authority intends to extend the Co-WIN platform to the world to fight the p;andemic.
The platform would primarily provide information and data of India’s experience with Covid-19.
PM Modi told the conclave “India has been committed to sharing all our experiences, expertise and resources with the global community in this battle. Despite all our constraints, we have tried to share as much as possible with the world. And, we remain eager to learn from global practices. Technology is integral to our fight against COVID-19. Luckily, software is one area in which there are no resource constraints.”
Whether the CoWin platform will actually help the world community fight covid-19 based on India’s experience with it is a moot point because all efforts start with accurate data.
Whereas, the data pertinent to Covid-19 in the country is at best unreliable because of the government’s own efforts to obfuscate it fearing political consequences due ot its poor handling of the entire pandemic.
