Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has asked the Special Investigating Team (SIT) investigating the role of Kotkapura police to extend its investigation to ascertain the role of the Congress and Asm Aadmi Party (AAP) in destabilizing the previous Akali government.

Speaking at a press meet here, party-man Bikram Singh Majithia also demanded that narco tests be administered to the beneficiaries of the conspiracy to uproot the Akali government.

“All the major leaders of Congress and their secret accomplices from the AAP must be put through narco tests to get the truth on what role each one of them played in that conspiracy aimed not only destabilizing the then govt but also at destroying the age old trust between the devout Sikh masses and the champions of their interests ,” he said.

Expressing surprise over the so-called brazenness of the Congress leadership in setting a deadline for ending the probe, Mr Majithia  asked, ” Whose orders is  the SIT expected to  obey – High Court’s or Congress High Command’s ?”

They alleged that that the previous SIT actually  obeyed  their political masters and not the courts. The Congress government  has used the previous SIT merely as a rubber stamp, while the report was actually prepared by political leaders of the party, along with some Panthic organizations.

Both, Majithia and Cheema said that indictment of Kunwar Viayy Partap for politicizing the investigation, along with the orders of the Congress party to submit the report within a month’s time reveals the conspiracy  against the previous Akali government which began with acts of sacrilege that still continues. This necessitates narco-testing they said.

The Akalis also alleged that Navjot Sidhu had admitted Amarinder’s role in dragging the probe to gain electoral mileage.

Majitia also alleged that the Vigilance department was meddling in the investigations.
