In what appears to be a monumental gaffe Union Minsiter Nitin Gadkari has become the cynosure of ridicule following a gaffe during the press meet following the launch of an oxygen plant at Prayagraj UP.

In news report video of TV1 India, Gadkari is seen addressing a press meet in Prayagraj after the inauguration of the Prabhavya Industries, wherein he starts reading his statement….”We are glad that people have died in India due to oxygen shortage…”

Thereafter, he goes on into the details of the oxygen supply situation int he country and the government’s efforts to alleviate the shortage.

The gaffe has evoked criticism from across the board particularly as an Union minister is not expected to make such a monumental gaffe at a time when the whole nation is miserable with the consequences of the pandemic.

One wonders whether our ministers actually read the statements that they put out before the press and the people and whether they actually know what is going on.
